Ali Rawaf joined Romano Law as a graduate law clerk focusing on media law and commercial litigation, bringing over a decade of experience in media and journalism. Previously, he worked as an investigative journalist and producer for CBS News’ 60 Minutes, where he reported on major domestic and international stories and produced interviews with key public figures in politics, entertainment, academia, and the private sector. His work earned him an Emmy, a DuPont, and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
Before joining Romano Law, Ali served as a legal fellow in the New York State Attorney General’s Office, a judicial extern for the Honorable Stewart Aaron at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and a summer associate at a civil rights litigation boutique in New York City.
During law school, Ali was an editor and contributor for the Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment Law Blog and served as president of the American Constitution Society. He was also a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society.
Originally from Baghdad, Iraq, Ali immigrated to the U.S. through a State Department scholarship program and graduated with honors in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He is fluent in both English and Arabic.
Outside of work, you can find Ali walking his dog in Central Park, taking an early-morning yoga sculpt class, or frequenting one of New York’s legendary jazz clubs.
Ali is a member of the New York Inn of Court and the Media Law Resource Center.
